Chief Chip Gardner appointed to Board of Pension Fund
Chief Samuel Chipper Gardner, Spalding County Fire Department, was appointed by Governor Sonny Perdue to the Board of Trustees of the Georgia Firefighters' Pension Fund, effective November 17, 2004. Chief Gardner has been a firefighter for 29 years, first with Henry County, then with Spalding County. He was appointed Chief of Spalding County in 1985 and has served in that capacity ever since. He has been a member of the Pension Fund for 24 years. Chief Gardner is an active member of the Georgia State Firefighters Association, the Georgia Association of Fire Chiefs, the Joint Legislative Committee of those Associations, the International Association of Fire Chiefs, the Southeastern Association of Fire Chiefs, and numerous civic and charitable organizations.
